A “younger black bear” is making its means by means of Arlington County, Virginia, in a possible seek for a brand new residence habitat, the Animal Welfare League of Arlington stated.

The final reported sightings of the bear had been Sunday within the Rivercrest and Bellevue Forest neighborhoods, situated northwest of Potomac Overlook Regional Park.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) stated animal management officers instantly contacted “the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources and Virginia State biologist” after confirming the sightings.

The bear, “seemingly a younger male” and showing “wholesome,” was first noticed by a “member of the general public” on June 6, AWLA stated in a Facebook post.

It stated the precise areas of the place the bear has been sighted won’t be launched, for “the security of everybody,” explaining throughout previous bear sightings there have been “points with members of the general public going out searching for the bear to take their very own pictures or see it for themselves.”

“This is VERY harmful, and may trigger hurt to you, others, and the bear,” AWLA stated.

This newest sighting comes after an Arlington lady’s grotesque discovery of a bear carcass stuffed in a trash bag alongside the Custis Memorial Trail on May 31.

AWLA stated when you spot the bear, “preserve to a secure distance or indoors” and call the group at 703-931-9241.
