A coyote was shot and killed after police say it attacked two ladies Thursday throughout separate assaults in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Police, animal companies and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources had been all trying to find the coyote following the 2 separate assaults which occurred hours aside, according to the police department.

Montgomery County police mentioned the primary assault occurred simply earlier than 10 a.m. whereas a girl was strolling her canine within the 1400 block of Patuxent Drive — close to Watershed drive in Ashton.

She was taken to the hospital and is predicted to be OK.

The second assault occurred round 3:45 p.m. within the 3600 block of Bell Road in Burtonsville. Police mentioned that lady fought the coyote off and stabbed the animal.

Around 7 p.m., police mentioned the coyote was discovered alongside a path on Dustin Road. The animal was shot and killed. It will likely be examined for rabies.

Police are reminding residents to keep away from any coyotes they could spot and to as an alternative name 911 or animal companies at 240-773-5925.
